Jack Coffey

BSc, PGCert

Jack is an Ecologist with a specialisation in Botany. His expertise also includes plant physiology, landscape management, ecological genetic diversity and sustainable development.

Jack studied Applied Plant Biology at UCC. His thesis investigated the potential of tea (Camellia sinensis) as a new agricultural crop in Ireland. Following this, he studied (Bio)Pharmaceutical Processing at UCC, gaining additional knowledge of biochemistry, pharmacokinetics and regulatory compliance.

He is a Director and Vice-Chairperson of Zero Waste Alliance Ireland, a registered charity. This work involves sustainability advocacy, research and scientific writing for submissions in response to Irish and European legislation.

His work with Flynn Furney since mid-2023 has included Appropriate Assessment Screenings, Ecological Impact Assessments, Invasive Alien Plant Species surveys and Biodiversity Management Plans for development projects.
