BSc, MSc

Louise Mac Elwain is an Environmental Scientist, Chemist and Biologist whose past research has focused on plant developmental biology and soil microarthropod communities. 

She has worked for international NGOs in education and development, with a focus on environmental education.

She holds a first-class honours MSc from University College Dublin where she gained skills in GIS analysis, Environmental Policy and General Ecology, amongst others. Additionally, she has a BSc in Chemistry and Biology from NUI Maynooth.

Some projects Louise has worked on since she began working at Flynn Furney include Biodiversity Action Plans, Biodiversity Enhancement Strategies, and Biodiversity Net Gain metrics.

She is passionate about the protection of our wetlands, the expansion of wildlife corridors and has a keen interest in botany.
