Glashaboy Flood Relief Scheme

The Glashaboy Flood Relief Scheme, based in Glanmire, Co. Cork, comprises the construction of direct flood defences and conveyance improvement measures along the Glashaboy River and its tributaries. Works include flood walls, embankments and a series of culverts and bridges to be replaced and upgraded.

Sorensen Civil Engineering Ltd were awarded the contract and works commenced in June 2023 of a three-year programme. Flynn Furney have been commissioned by ARUP, OPW and Cork City Council to perform the role of the client’s Ecological Clerk of Works to oversee all works and ensure the contractor carries out operations in compliance with the Work Requirements and Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR).
