Rivus is a partner company of Flynn Furney Environmental Consultants Ltd. It is a leading ecological engineering company delivering nature-based solutions to today’s environmental challenges. Rivus offers creative long-term nature-based engineering solutions in a diverse and complex range of land and aquatic environments throughout Ireland. Their ecological approach addresses environmental challenges and enhances ecosystem services. They provide either a complete project solution or expert inputs on a consultancy basis.

Clandillon Civil Consulting (CCC)

Flynn Furney Environmental Consultants Ltd has worked with Clandillon Civil Consulting (CCC) on a number of projects. CCC is an engineering consultancy based in Naas, Co. Kildare which is dedicated to providing exceptional services to contractors in the execution of infrastructure projects. Whether it be in Civil Engineering Design, as part of the Construction Management Team or in providing Environmental Services, CCC specialises in applying sound judgement in order to identify opportunities and provide solutions for their Clients throughout the project life cycle.

Kilgallen & Partners

Flynn Furney Environmental Consultants Ltd has teamed up with Kilgallen & Partners on various projects. Killgallen & Partners specialise in the performance of the engineering services pertaining to the design and management of building and civil engineering projects. They have a proven and established track record of successful delivery from concept stage through to project handover. Their portfolio of projects includes road schemes, flood relief schemes and buildings for the commercial, residential and manufacturing markets delivered on behalf of clients drawn from across the Public and Private Sectors.

Deborah D’Arcy - Botanist

Deborah joins Flynn Furney Environmental Consultants Ltd on projects from time to time, chiefly as a botanical specialist. She is an independent and freelance Ecologist providing ecological consultancy services with experience in Appropriate Assessment, Ecological Impact Assessment, habitat survey and mapping, protected species surveys and Ecological Clerk of Works. Deborah also provides ecology education and training services, including biodiversity enhancement and habitat management for community and ‘Tidy Town’ groups and the development of local biodiversity action plans.

Anthony Daly - Arborist

Anthony Daly works with Flynn Furney on a regular basis on tree surveys and forestry related projects. He is a fully qualified Arborist and a certified member of the ISA (International Society of Arboriculture), with 25 years’ experience working in both native woodland estates and commercial forestry applications in Ireland, the British Isles and mainland Europe. Anthony and his team have been highly trained to NPTC (City & Guilds) standards in chainsaw activities. They look to bring more of a conservation and preservation approach to their work, while also keeping their environmental footprint to a minimum on any projects they encounter.

Anthony has been involved in Rhododendron and Cherry Laurel clearance projects in Ireland, Wales and Scotland over the past 15 years and has worked with members of the RFS (Royal Forestry Society) on two projects where feasibility studies were carried out on harvested Rhododendron. This involved looking at its possible use in contributing financially to clearance costs, the most economical methods for Rhododendron clearance and future management based on different site conditions.

Peter Grennan - Tree Technician

Peter has over a decade of experience as a qualified Tree Technician. He has worked with Flynn Furney on several projects across Ireland as a tree surveyor and specialist. Peter is the owner and director of Tree to Tree, a small business originating in Co. Monaghan. The business includes dealing with private and commercial customers, as well as contracting to other companies within the arboriculture and ecology industries, surveying and assessing for a multitude of private clients as well as working on large-scale commercial projects.

Peter’s work involves inspecting trees to mitigate their integration with humans. At Tree to Tree, Peter and his team safely and efficiently carry out the management presented by their findings with a strong attitude towards retention where possible, in keeping with the company’s mission statement. Peter has gained numerous qualifications and accreditations in tree inspection, felling, dismantling, pruning and maintenance, from the City & Guilds NPTC, FETAC and LANTRA.

07.

Owen Beckett - Entomologist

Owen is a freelance Entomologist who works with Flynn Furney Environmental Consultants Ltd on various projects. He is a Research Officer with the National Biodiversity Centre and holds an MSc in Conservation Biology from Queen’s University Belfast.
