Greenways & Trails
It is unlikely that any other independently-owned consultancy has more Greenway experience than Flynn Furney Environmental Consultants. Since 2012 we have worked on Greenway projects in all four provinces. In 2012 we carried out the Ecological Impact Assessment for Phase I of the Ulster Canal Greenway in Co. Monaghan. We have since worked on all subsequent stages of this Greenway including the marina development that will join this canal at Clones, Co. Monaghan.
We have also done the constraints studies for Ballybay to Castleblayney and Dundalk to Carrickmacross along the old GNR Railway line. In 2020 we carried out the Ecological Impact Assessment, Appropriate Assessment Screening and Natura Impact Statement for the 43km proposed Blessington Greenway and also for the 74km Mid-Shannon Wilderness Park Greenway in Co. Longford. We are currently working on Ulster Canal Phase III and on the Midleton to Youghal Greenway which is under construction.
