The Delvin River

We are very proud of this unique source-to-sea ecological study that we carried out for Fingal County Council. This was an extremely detailed study that used a variety of techniques to gather together an overall picture of the Eastern River Basin District. Our studies included a walkover survey of the entire river corridor, the completion of a River Habitat Survey of 5km of the entire corridor, detailed habitat description at ecological reference sites, macroinvertebrate sampling and analysis, benthic diatom sampling and macro-algal surveys. An Invasive Species survey was also a part of the output. We also carried out water quality sampling and analysis – including a historical review of water quality and a comprehensive fisheries assessment of the river.
