New Ross Bypass (N25)
Flynn Furney Environmental Consultants Ltd were chosen to be the ecologists on this large project (15km) that included a new bridge crossing of the River Barrow. Performing the role from pre-construction surveys to the defects period, our company played an important role in delivering this scheme. As the route is located within a Natura site, any change to construction methodologies required high level input from our specialists to ensure that our clients were able to carry out the project in a sensitive manner. Key species included the large badger population in the area. Mitigation included artificial badger setts and a comprehensive ecological design of mammal underpasses and mammal proof fencing. Our ecologists worked closely with landowners and the NPWS in delivering a sustainable solution.
