Ian Douglas

(Associate Director), MSc, BSc, H Cert.Ag

Ian is an Ecologist and Agri-environmental Consultant specialising in Appropriate Assessment, Ecological Impact Assessment, GIS, nature trail design, habitat creation and Agroecology. 

Ian has over 12 years of experience in ecological and environmental consultancy, and has worked in Ireland, Australia and the UK. Ian has worked between ecological and agricultural consulting, with clients ranging from large developers to individual farmers and land managers. He has led teams working on ecological assessments for large windfarms, residential developments and road projects. His biodiversity projects include rewilding schemes and habitat restoration & creation plans. He is also experienced in agri-environmental land use and nutrient management planning.

In addition to being an Associate Director with Flynn Furney, Ian is also the Director and founder of ID Environmental Consultants, which specialises in afforestation, conservation grazing and biodiversity net gain projects. Ian holds a MSc in Agriculture & Environmental Science from Newcastle University, a BSc in Environmental Management from DIT (now TU Dublin) and an Advanced Certificate in Agriculture, Agricultural Business and Science from the Teagasc Research Centre.
